Udupi, April 13: “I will campaign for BJP candidate Yashpal Suvarna as if it is my own election. He will win with a margin of over 60,000 votes. I will campaign from today till the day of the elections in the company of Yashpal Suvarna at every stage,” said MLA Raghupati Bhat.

“All of us will work with a single mind. We will work for the victory of the candidate forgetting all our differences. I spoke due to sadness yesterday. We feel sad when our parents scold us and we scold them back. We later sleep in their company. My well-wishers are the well-wishers of BJP. Let us stop the discussions on social media. Let us send WhatsApp messages for the victory of Suvarna after this. We will win Udupi constituency cent per cent,” incumbent MLA Raghupati Bhat said.

“Former chief minister Yediyurappa had telephoned me. There is nothing to be sorted out after speaking to chief minister Bommai. As there is no trouble there is no need for a troubleshooter. We have got an opportunity to work with the candidate announced by the party. The party has given us a good candidate. The party has given me three opportunities to be the MLA. As I have come from an ordinary family it was great. It is not right for me to speak of disappointment after this,” Bhat said. 

MLA Raghupati Bhat who has been denied the BJP ticket said, “I had started working before Yediyurappa called me. He has assured me that I am a good worker and that I have a good future in the party. B L Santhosh has appreciated my work through his tweets. It is a matter of pride for me. We have shown our unity in front of the people”, he said.

“Raghupati Bhat was educated in Sangha Parivar. I will campaign to put forward the development work of Raghupathi Bhat,” said Yashpal Suvarna, the official BJP candidate for Udupi constituency.
