Udupi, Sep 22: A murder case involving a man from Udupi, which reportedly took place in Sharjah in July, has come to light belatedly, leaving his family members in shock.
The deceased has been identified as Prakash Kundar, a native of Udupi who was residing in Sharjah along with his wife and son. Following the murder, Prakash’s wife, Tina, and their minor son have reportedly gone missing, raising suspicion over their whereabouts.
According to reports, around July 20, Prakash had attempted to contact his brother. Prakash, who usually responded through voice messages, allegedly replied through a text message on this occasion. When his brother insisted that he make a phone call, communication was reportedly cut off.
Concerned relatives later contacted the company where Prakash was employed. The company reportedly informed them that Prakash had gone to India. However, when he did not return to his native place, the family became suspicious and approached the authorities in Sharjah.
Sharjah police launched a search operation for Prakash, who had been reported missing. During the investigation, his body was allegedly found inside his own car. Reports stated that he had been stabbed and that his body had been dismembered into multiple pieces.
Suspicion has reportedly fallen on Prakash’s wife, Tina, as she and their son are currently untraceable. Police are investigating whether she was involved in the crime or whether she and her son left Sharjah under other circumstances. There are also reports that they may have travelled to India after leaving Sharjah.
The family members are awaiting the repatriation of Prakash’s mortal remains after the completion of legal procedures in Sharjah.
Prakash had been working at Sharjah Airport, while his wife, Tina, was employed as a teacher. The couple had been married for around 20 years and have a son who is studying in class 10.
Family members have stated that they were not aware of any serious disputes between the couple. Prakash had visited India in December last year.
