Kundapur, Apr 13: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has clarified that the decision to announce a new candidate for Moodigere and other constituencies was based on surveys and discussions conducted by the party. Speaking to reporters in Kollur on Thursday, he emphasized that the decisions were not taken hastily and that the candidates announced so far have a strong base.

Bommai also stated that the MLAs and leaders were not present at the event as he had asked them not to come. Instead, the party will utilize the leader of fisheries and former minister, Pramod Madhwaraj, on the state level during the elections. He expressed confidence that Madhwaraj would have better opportunities in the future.

Responding to questions about Rishab Shetty, Bommai clarified that he and Shetty had been friends for a long time and that he had not known Shetty would be at the temple. He further stated that he had not thought of using Shetty for the party campaign and that he prayed for the welfare of the land and the people at the temple of Mookambika.
