Kundapur, Apr 15: “I am not a big politician. I do not know to don colours,” said Kundapur MLA Halady Srinivasa Shetty.
Shetty was speaking at the mammoth meeting of BJP workers that was held at Saraswathi auditorium of Kota on Friday.
He further said, “I am clear about my vision. If I decide something once, I stick to it. I do not know to play politics like an actor. My party workers have worked hundred times more than me to get an entry for me into the legislative assembly. I have to take another birth to repay your gratitude. I am grateful to the faith you have kept in me.
“I heard in a meeting, a Congress candidate saying that I am old. Election should be between two parties and should not turn filthy. He might be having my horoscope with him. But he should clarify in which way I am old. Can I not walk? Is my brain dead? Or whether I am bedridden? Speaking just for the sake of winning is not right. They are also saying that that it was me who told the Congress candidate to contest for elections. This is really shameful of the Congress party. There is no question of me cheating my party workers. Even if someone holds gun to my head, I am dedicated to the BJP.
“I have agreed to social justice under the democratic system and worked accordingly. Voters have elected me irrespective of caste. I do not give guarantee card to anyone. I am the guarantee for you,” he said.
Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said, “Rahul Gandhi held Bharat Jodo Yatra. Ask Congress who partitioned India?”
Mentioning the statement of Rahul Gandhi that terrorists did not do any harm to him at Jammu Kashmir, Poojary said, “Among human beings, relatives do not harm each other.”
Halady Srinivas Shetty welcomed 17 people into the BJP by giving them party flag.
Kundapur BJP candidate Kiran Kumar Kodgi, district president Kuyiladi Suresh Shetty, Kundapur election in charge Shyamala Kundar, Mangaluru in-charge Udayakumar Shetty were present.
