Dubai: KSD all set to organize Mega Dance Contest

Dubai, Apr 27: Dubai’s first ever Karnataka Sangha founded in 1985, Karnataka Sangha Dubai(KSD) poised to continue its service to Kannadiga community in Dubai is organizing a gulf level mega Dance competition name as 'Dubai Dance Cup'on May 28 at Indian Academy School Auditorium, Qusais Dubai.

Event Flyer release was done on April 26 at Venus restaurant located in Karama Dubai, the flyer was in the presence all major Karnataka related association representatives of the UAE. The event started with the lighting of the lamp by dignitaries on stage Karnataka Sangha Dubai president Shashidhar Nagarajappa, patron Harish Bangera, advisor Jayanth Shetty, vice president Daya Kirodian, general secretary Manohar Hegde, Balakrishna Salian - Mogaveers UAE, Sudhakar Rao Pejavar - Brahmana Samaja UAE, Novel Almeda - ex president Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Rajesh Kuttar - president Gammat Kalavidaru UAE, Sagar Shettar - Gulf Geleyaru, Swami Gangadhar – businessman, Dr Rashmi Nanda Kishore - president Vokkaliga Sangha UAE, Dr Mamatha Radder - president Basava Samithi UAE.

General secretary Manohar Hegde welcomed all the guests and Daya Kirodian gave a detailed history of KSD and the president Shashdihar Nagarajappa explained in detail about the dance competition and sought support and participation in the contest from all the Kannadigas in the Gulf region. He further thanked previous presidents of KSD for their contribution to lead the organization for 38 long years. Businessman and patron of KSD Harish Bangera greeted all dignitaries and called for united efforts to contribute towards our native culture in foreign land, he insisted for disciplined and selfless approach to all activities of KSD. Advisor and founder member of KSD Jayanth Shetty shared his memories of the past and sought support from all association in the gulf.

In his presidential speech Shashidhar Nagarajappa thanked those we were unable to attend the flyer launch due to week day event, dignitaries who sent their wishes to the event were Karnataka Snagha Abu Dhabi president Sarvotham Shetty, KNRI Forum president Praveen Shetty, Mangalore Konkan’s president James Mendonca, Karnataka Snagha Sharjah advisor ME Mooluru, KNRI Forum vice-president Harish Sherigar, businessman Gunasheel Shetty and Ronald Martiz due to weekday programme, few dignitaries who were unable to attend has given their wishes and assured of support were thanked

In the dignitaries wishes Shodhan prasad assured of all the supports and Dr Rashmi Nandakisore welcomed the Dance talent encouragement, movie producer and distributor Ishwaridas Shetty promised to back the event, Rajesh Kuttar gave the advise of his experience, Sudhaar Rao Pejavar gave an emotional touch to the event with his association with the KSD in the founding days.

The event was well organized by its executive committee team Sathish Shetty, Harish Kodi, Hidayat Addur, Radika Satish, K M Ashraf, Peter Jayson, Mamatha Senthil, Lawrance Nazreth, Siddalingesh and Sunil Gavaskar.

The event was very well compeered by Shilpa Sudhakar and vote of thanks was done by KSD treasurer Nagaraj Rao Udupi.
