Mangaluru, May 5: "The Congress will come to power in the state after the forthcoming elections. People will discard the elected dictatorship of the BJP government," said the former chief minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan.

Addressing media here on Friday May 5, he said, “We can call the BJP government a double-engine corrupt government. Corruption is rampant here. The results of the Karnataka elections will have an impact on elections in the other states. We are sure that the Congress will come to power with an absolute majority,” he said.

Slamming the central government, he said, “What happened to Modi's promise of 'Na Khaunga, Na Khane Dunga'? Several promises are not fulfilled.”

“People should change this government. The BJP government came to power because of 'Operation Lotus'. The public had rejected the BJP but they stole power through horse-trading with the blessings of Modi,” he said.

He said that the Congress will fulfill all the guarantees given to the people.

MLC and district Congress president Harish Kumar, MLC Manjunath Bhandary and others were present.
