Mangaluru, May 6: The Hospital Infection Control (HIC) department along with quality department of SRINIVAS Hospital, Mukka, here, observed World Hand Hygiene Day on May 5. "Together, we can accelerate action to prevent infections and antimicrobial resistance in health care and build a culture of safety and quality in which hand hygiene improvement is given high priority’’.
Dr David Rosario, medical superintendent, was present in the Inauguration of this programme, the event of ingaurated by lighting of the lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Dr David Rosario said, "Hand washing day is being celebrating globally. It is important to spread this message to create awareness, as cross infection can be reduced. So this is very important for all of us to keep our hands clean to maintain good health and also save many lives."
Followed by the speech, various performances were performed by the hospital staff to reiterate and support hand hygiene, and the importance of hand hygiene in the healthcare domain.
Results were announced for the individual and group events organised on account of World Hand Hygiene Day.
