Bantwal, May 6: “The Congress party has announced a secure and prosperous manifesto for women. Help for a stable government in the state by massive votes to such far sighted Congress,” requested Panemangalore block Mahila Congress president Jayanti V Poojary. She was speaking in the news conference at Bantwal Congress election campaign office.
She said, “The Congress party has announced five guarantees when prices are skyrocketing. The Congress leaders have said that those guarantees will be implemented during the first cabinet meeting.
“Every female head of the family will receive Rs 2,000 per month. As much as 200 units of electricity per house will be free. The employed degree holders will receive compensation. Every member of the family will receive 10 kg rice and free travel for women in government buses are the guarantees. Widow pension will be increased to Rs 2,500 per month, 100 hostels will be constructed for working women, 20% sites in industrial parks will be reserved for working women, assistance of Rs five thousand for women’s small scale industries, free training in driving for women who discontinue studies in SSLC and PUC and allotment of auto rickshaw at subsidized rates are included in the manifesto. Several facilities are announced for Anganwadi workers and Asha activists,” she said.
“The Congress government should come to power for implementation of the manifesto. Our candidate B Ramanath Rai should win. He has a sincere and transparent personality,” she said.
Bantwal block Mahila Congress president Lavina Moras, former president of the municipal council Joswin D’ Souza, council vice president Jacinta D’ Souza, former council members Dhanavanti, Vallery, organizing secretary Fauzia, DCC member Flossy D’ Souza, Panemangalore block member Shobha Shetty, Bantwal block member Shabana and others were present.
