Beltangady BJP candidate Harish Poonja accused of enticing voters with cash

Beltangady, May 9: Accusations are heard against BJP candidate of Beltangady constituency Harish Poonja of enticing voters with cash during house-to-house campaigning.

Public campaigning for the state assembly elections were over at 6 pm on Monday May 8. Harish Poonja and team began visiting houses on Monday night. A video related to incident has gone viral on social media.

It is heard that Poonja and his team offered Rs five lac to the residents of a Dalit colony of Ashoknagar when they went there to seek votes. In addition, he also promised the Dalits of building houses and providing them with RTC in their colony.

Locals, who got angry at Harish Poonja, gheraoed him and exchanged heated words with his team members. It is said that Harish and his followers escaped from the spot as soon as the locals began gheraoing them.
