Mangaluru: Rain cools several parts of Dakshina Kannada district

Mangaluru, May 10: Several parts of Dakshina Kannada district received moderate to good rain on Tuesday May 10.

Subramanya, Sullia, Beltangady, Uppinangady, Dharmasthala, Puttur, Moodbidri and Mangaluru received rains. In Mangaluru and surrounding areas the rain was good and water was flowing on the roads. Though it rained in the morning, mercury continued to soar during the day. At some places it rained even on Tuesday evening.

The drop in air pressure that has occurred in Bay of Bengal and South Andaman Sea is gaining momentum and there is every possibility that it may get converted into a cyclone. As per the present situation, the cyclone is like to hit Myanmar. Yellow alert is declared in coastal Karnataka for Wednesday.

Kadaba and Sullia taluk received light rain on Tuesday evening. Enmooru and Edamangala received moderate rains. Subramanya, Panja, Nintikallu, Bellare, Ivarnadu, Sonangeri, Sullia, Kalmakaru, Ainakidu, Kollamogru, Harihara, Pallatadka and some parts of Kadaba received moderate rains.

Most of the parts of Beltangady also received good rains accompanied by thunder and lightning on Monday night.

In Bantwal taluk too, many parts experienced good rains after 10.30 pm on Monday.

    Dear Team , Now yes raining is most important in mangalore since there are shortage of water cannot a government have an alternative solution for it. Instead of spending lacks of money on roads please make make an arrangement for people for water to all respective areas - I know Sam has water flow down but there can be a way during non monsoon reason to have a back up like. Either recycling of water from sea and then releasing it to dams so it shall be easily for people to live. At least. Please consider this request

    These spontaneous premonsoon drizzles only bring momentary relief from the blistering heat; hours after the drizzle, the mercury soars to newer highs!!
