Mangaluru: Trespassing Kadri temple premises – Case filed, VHP urges high level inquiry

Mangaluru, May 13: A case is filed in east police station of the city against three youths of different community who had entered the Kadri temple premises on bike and found roaming suspiciously wearing footwear on Thursday night.

Hassan Shahin (19), Ummer Farooq (21) and Mohammed Jafar (18), are the accused. When the security of the temple questioned them, it is alleged that they abused him. Now a case under IPC 447, 504, 506 and 34 is filed against the trio.

City police commissioner Kuldip Jain said that the youths confessed that they were going towards Suratkal on bike and were following a Google Map. It showed route near Kadri temple. When they approached temple, the gate was opened by the security and they entered the premises. But they could not make out the way from inside the temple. As they were going out they were questioned by locals and temple authorities.

Meanwhile, VHP submitted an appeal to the deputy commissioner and city police commissioner in which it said, “Three youths of different community have entered the temple and tried to desecrate it. There was information that the cooker bomber Shariq also targeted Kadri temple. So we suspect that the trio were hatching some plot and high level inquiry needs to be done in this incident and suitable security needs to be provided to the temple.”

According to the police inquiry so far, all three accused youths had left from Asaigoli to Katipalla. Out of them two were working in a shop and one is a student. The two, who worked in a shop were doing painting work on Friday, which is their weekly off day in the shop. Accordingly, they had left Asaigoli for painting work at Katipalla to be done on Friday.

The trio usually used to go by city bus. They lost their way as they moved on a bike. However, all CCTVs of the route in which their bike moved is being checked by the police to know more details. Police have got information from the man, who called them for painting work also. Police informed that comprehensive inquiry will be done on the trio.
