Fr Walter D'Mello takes charge as parish priest of Beltangady church

Beltangady, May 16: Walter D'Mello took charge as the parish priest of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Beltangady. He served 6 years as the judicial vicar of Mangalore diocese. 

New parish priest Walter D'Mello was welcomed by Fr Joseph Cardoza, former parish priest Beltangady, Fr Clifford Pinto, principal Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Walter Monis vice president, parish pastoral council, Gilbert Pinto, secretary of parish pastoral council, Pauline Rego, co-ordinator parish pastoral commissions, Sr Jacintha Baretto, superior St Teresa Convent and the faithful.

Fr Walter D'Mello was accompanied by Fr Vincent Monteiro, parish priest Bendoor Church, Msgr Leslie Shenoy, Fr Arun Lobo, Fr Ronson Pinto, Fr Vivian Rodrigues, Fr Naveen Pinto, Fr Alfred Pinto, Fr Francis D'Souza and Lawrence D'Souza.

Fr Joseph Cardoza, handed over the responsibilities to his successor Fr Walter D'Mello. Fr Basil Vas deligate of Bishop was present.

Beltangady deanery priests Fr Praveen D'Souza, Fr Thomas Sequiera and Fr Henry Madtha were present for the entire programme.

Fr Joseph Cardoza will be taking charge as parish priest of Martin De Pores Church, Belvai on Wednesday, May 16. He served as parish priest from Aughust 8, 2020 to May 15, 2023.
