MCA all set to present memorable Kalotsav-2023 in Qatar on May 19

Doha, May 16: The Mangalore Cultural Association, Qatar, a united forum of Mangaloreans working and residing in Qatar, is ready to host its highly anticipated annual event, "Kalotsav-2023," at the DPS MIS Auditorium in Al Wakra on Friday, May 19, 2023.

After a hiatus of three years due to the pandemic, MCA is thrilled to bring back its annual extravaganza, offering the perfect entertainment opportunity for Qatar's enthusiastic audience. Kalotsav-2023 promises a captivating blend of music, dance, comedy, and fashion, featuring artists from Mangalore, Dubai, and Qatar who are set to dazzle the stage.

The chief guest for the evening will be Walter Nandalike, the Managing Director of Daijiworld, while Fr Nelson Lobo, the spiritual director of the Konkani-speaking Community of Qatar, and Abdurrahman EP, the newly-elected president of the Indian Sports Centre, Qatar, will grace the event as guests of honor.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the MCA Kala Puraskar-2023 to 'Konkani Comedy King' Francis Fernandes Cascia, a renowned Konkani actor and playwright. Francis, who has made significant contributions to Konkani theatre, will be honored with a prize of Rs 1 lakh, a citation, a memento, and a hamper.

The event will also include the felicitation of Ravi Shetty, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist, for his remarkable achievements and recent Rajyotsava Award bestowed by the government of Karnataka.

Renowned artists such as Velita Lobo, the winner of the 'Mozho Tallo Gaitalo' Konkani reality show, and Jason Lobo, a rising star in the Konkani music world, will grace the stage with their exceptional performances. They will be joined by accomplished singers Clement Fernandes, Carol D'Souza, Veena Rebimbus Pais, Cristle Pinto, Anjali Andrade, Rupert Lobo, and the versatile Milan Arun, who will take care of the musical quotient at Kalotsav-2023.

The evening will also feature captivating dances by the Doha Dance Squad, led and choreographed by Vijaya D'Souza, winner of the first-ever Gulf Baila Naach reality show. Adding to the entertainment, the renowned Sangon Mugdana Kalaakar from Dubai, led by actor and director Pradeep Barboza Paladka, will present rib-tickling skits that have already gained popularity among Gulf audiences.

Komal Jenifer D'Souza, a highly regarded emcee, will be in charge of hosting the entire evening, showcasing her mastery over languages such as Konkani, English, Tulu, and Kannada.

Additionally, the event will feature the "Ms & Mr Karnataka-2023" inter-association fashion pageant, judged by experts in the industry, with cash prizes and crowns for the winners.

With a perfect blend of Konkani, Kannada, and Tulu songs, mesmerizing dances, hilarious comedy, and a plethora of entertainment, Kalotsav-2023 guarantees an unforgettable experience. The dynamic team led by President Aloysius D'Souza, along with advisors Felix Lobo, Wilfred Fernandes, Jerry Pinto, and the entire Executive Committee, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of Kalotsav-2023.

The event will commence promptly at 4:30 pm on May 19, and the organizers have requested the audience to arrive and secure their seats by 4:15 pm.
