Kasargod, May 16: A beautician was brutally murdered on Tuesday, May 16 evening at a lodge in Kanhangad.

The victim, Devika (34) from Uduma Mangad, fell victim to the crime. Sathish Bhasker (36) from Bovikkana, reported to be her lover, surrendered himself to the police at Hosadurga station following the incident.

Sathish had been working as a security guard at a private company in Kanhangad. The incident is believed to have been triggered by a mix of love and subsequent enmity between the two individuals. After committing the murder, Sathish locked the room from the outside and turned himself in to the police.

There were family disputes between the two parties, and Sathish Bhasker's family had filed a complaint against Devika. The Melbaramba police had called both families for discussions. Sathish had been staying at the lodge for the past week.

He called Devika to the lodge in the afternoon and allegedly carried out the murder.
