Udupi, May 17: Newly elected Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna directed city municipal council officials to ensure that water is supplied without interruptions in Udupi. He was speaking to officials after visiting the Udupi city council.
He asked to provide water once in three days by means of rationing as informed and through water tankers depending on the needs of the wards.
“Inform the ward councillors and supply water through tankers to the citizens at a time that is suitable to them,” he said.
He said that a meeting will be held with the officials next week regarding cleaning of drainages, task force and other urgent works as preparations for monsoon.
Former president of the municipal council Sumitra Nayak, vice president Lakshmi Manjunath, municipal commissioner Ramesh Naik, councillors and officers were present.
