Udupi: Boat sinks after colliding against rocks, seven fishermen rescued

Udupi, May 23: Seven fishermen were rescued after their fishing boat collided against rocks at Bhatkal Nethrani on Monday May 22.

The boat named ‘Sea Bird’ belonging to Rahil had left from Malpe port on May 21. The boat struck a rock when they reached Nethrani due to high wind.

A boat, ‘Pavana Putra 111’, which was nearby, rescued the seven fishermen. The ‘Sea Bird’ sank at the spot.

A loss of Rs 45 lac is estimated.
