Kasargod: Couple dies by suicide after killing three children

Mangaluru, May 25: In a heart-wrenching incident reported from Kanuur Cherupula, a couple killed their three children before killing themselves.

The deceased are identified as Shaji (42), his second wife Sreeja (38), children Sooraj (10), Surabhi (8) and Sujin (12). A death note written by the couple was found at the spot.

Police suspect that the couple must have hanged themselves after killing the three children.

The bodies of three children were found hanging near the steps of the house. The couple were found hanging from the same rope nearby.

    According to "Matrubumi" newspaper, this couple got married on May 16, 2023. These three children are from Sreeja and her deceased 1st husband. The house where they were living now, belonged to Sreeja's deceased 1st husband. Shaji also was a married man, having a wife and 2 children who are living some other place. It is said by neighbours, that there was frequent fights between Shaji and Sreeja. It looks like Shaji married Shreeja thinking that he would get large property from Sreeja's 1st husband. When he realized there is complications to get the desired wealth, he resorted to this step. By the events, it looks, Sreeja and her 3 children are sacrificed on the Altar of Greed of this man.

    Cynthia DK ,looks like the main culprit is the man,who was eyeing big wealth and money.When it turned down took the step of killing all.even children in sleep?and hanged.We can see he has(D)no blood i eyes.Its not long they married,may be married only because of money?Horrible.may God grant the children peace in Heaven to mother too.Man to hellHe must have done the deed when they all slept or gave some medicine?

    Majority of the cases ..its hindu Family which commits suicide .. Hindu religious leaders should have a close and honest look at what they are implanting in the minds of hindus .. Is it guilt and fear ? We often hear about curse and so called "Shaapa" from the astrologers and conmen ..Poor hindus are not instilled any positivity nor any help from community when in distress ..

    Dear Realkujuma, I'm always reading your messages related to Politics/Government/Politicians etc. Its fine and good to read also on present situation. But this case its totally different and please request don't try to politicize. Its fully not acceptable that parents killing their own children's by hanging or any other way. Its true that we don't know what's their family issue, In that much crucial case let parents take their own decision no issues, but killing children's are not acceptable by human or god. There are so many trusts, NGO, orphanage etc to look after children's in all community/ religion. Let them leave there happily atleast. Please its request to all elders who are taking bad decision on their own life or others life then think twice, thrice or 100 times. Suicide is not a solution for all.

    They hanged their own three children ? how ? did they sedate them or forced them? both parents participated? even the most cruel man Hitler poisoned their children by cyanide for painless and instant death.

    Prakash Mangalore.I am sure man must have sedated them or in sleep simply tightend the knot ,and later hanged.They are not his children you see .He married lately,so when he didnt get the hoped assets or money wanted to end .He didnt want to feed her children?Anyway very sad to these children .If I am not mistaken he must have wife too when no sources then why awife?Just look at his face these eyes.Hard like a rock,stone.No sympathy at all.so will be his heart too.May their souls of children and wife find peace in Heaven.
