New Delhi, July 14 (IANS) An umbrella body of Indian Muslim organisations like the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, All India Shia Conference and Indian National League Thursday strongly condemned the Wednesday terror strikes in Mumbai.
"Indian Muslims strongly condemn last (Wednesday) evening's criminal and cowardly act of bomb blasts in Mumbai," said Zafar ul-Islam Khan, working president of the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), in a statement here.
"Security agencies must not leave any stone unturned in probing this attack and bringing the criminals behind it to justice," he added.
At least 17 people were killed and 131 injured when three blasts rocked central-to-south Mumbai Wednesday evening. The places where the terror strikes took place are Dadar, Zaveri Bazaar and Opera House.
Citing Home Minister P. Chidambaram's statement that security agencies are not ruling out any terror group behind the attacks, Khan cautioned media groups from speculating.
"This (speculation) only distracts the investigations and has proved wrong in the case of many previous terrorist attacks," he said.
