Writer, Film-maker Chintha Ravi Passes Away at 65

Kerala, Jul 15: Well-known writer and film maker Chintha Ravi passed away at the age of 65 on July 4 at a private hospital in Thrissur  where he had been undergoing treatment.

T Raveendran who hailed from Kozhikode used to write under the pen-name Chintha Ravi after being a member of the editorial journal Chintha for a long period.

Ravi had directed several films out of which ‘Ore Thooval Pakshikal’ won the best picture award from the Kerala Government.

He has also contributed to Malayalam literature by wrting well-appreciated travelogues like Akalangalile Manushyar (Men in distant places), which he wrote after his journey to many remote villages of India.

In his television travelogue Ente Keralam he had exhibited Kerala’s features by touring every nook and cranny of the state.
