Mangaluru, May 27: "The BJP will hold a state-wide agitation if the Congress government fails to implement the five guarantee schemes promised to the people,” said BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, May 27, he said that the Congress government should implement all the five guarantees within a month. If the government fails to implement them, the BJP will hold state-wide protests, he said.

He further said, “As Congress government has failed to fulfill the assurances, government officials are suffering as more and more citizens are attacking them and it is the only free programme announced by the Congress government.
“The government is involved in hatred politics. Government is booking cases against BJP MLAs and party workers indiscriminately. Cases have been booked against MLA Harish Poonja, Ashwath Narayan and party workers while Congress workers continue to be involved in assaults and violence.
“Let the Congress government probe works initiated by the BJP government and the government should allow an impartial probe to be conducted against Lokayukta cases booked against Siddaramaiah,” he said.
Speaking on Congress leaders’ comments about banning the RSS, Nalin Kumar said, "Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Narasimha Rao tried to ban the organisation but they were not successful. The court stated that RSS is a patriotic organisation. When senior Congress stalwarts could not ban, can the present leaders do it? It is impossible. When anti-national slogans were raised by people during the victory celebrations of Congress, why were such people not arrested or cases booked against them?”
He also said that the BJP government had appointed Praveen Nettaru's wife as a government employee on contract basis and on compassionate grounds. But, the Congress government has removed her from service. “Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai had appointed Praveen's wife for six months on the assumption that BJP will come to power and will continue her service. But unfortunately this did not happen. The present chief minister should continue her service on humanitarian grounds. I will urge him to continue her service as a government employee. If the government fails to do so, there is NMPT which comes under the union government. We will make alternative arrangements to provide her employment,” he said.
MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Bharath Shetty, Harish Poonja, Umanath Kotian, Rajesh Naik, and Bhagirathi Muroliya and MLC Prathap Simha Nayak were also present.
