Baghdad, July 15 (IANS) Two car bombs rocked Iraq's Karbala holy city Friday, killing at least two people and injuring 15, police said.
A police official told Xinhua that the cars exploded at a garage near a Shiite shrine in Karbala, some 100 km from the capital city Baghdad.
Several vehicles near the blast site were damaged, he said.
On April 14, 2007, a car bombing near a Shiite shrine killed 47 and wounded over 150.
The city - best known as the location of the Battle of Karbala in 680 A.D. - is amongst the holiest cities for Shiite Muslims.
