Quake hits off Chile

Santiago, July 16 (IANS) An undersea quake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck off the central Chilean port city of Valparaiso, but there was no immediate report of damage or casualty, Xinhua reported.

The tremor occurred around 8.00 p.m. Friday, about 80 km off the Valparaiso coast, the US Geological Survey said. There was no danger of a tsunami.
