Why the victimised construction company is not named? BTW, how the company owners could believe someone to provide them with such a huge loan? Appears like this company had no sufficient credentials to officially obtain a loan from any financial institution!!

There are many unsold flats in Mangalore, but more are built. Now the Incometax department is keeping a close watch on real estate with 360 degree profiling and lots of data collected about the "real " market value of property even in Mangalore, along with faceless assessment. Black money in property will be easily detected and it will be more difficult to sell real estate, leading to more unsold flats- a domino effect.

Monty, for a small city like Mangalore with only educational institutions to boast about, the amount of supply of flats, houses, and properties is very much on the higher side; also realty rates are artificially inflated! With the type of fragile infrastructure (water, electricity), communal sensitivity, moral policing and absolute lack of public transportation, lack of job opportunities etc, high cost of living, it's not worthwhile investing in properties, here, with artificially inflated rates! No doubt, there are a very large number of investors trapped in high value realty waiting to sell off at distress rates! Rental flats too are available aplenty!
