Mumbai: Tulu Kannada Sangha Tilaknagar celebrates silver jubilee of Matsyagandha express

Mumbai, May 31: On Sunday, May 28, Tulu Kannada Sangha Tilaknagar celebrated the silver jubilee of Matsyagandha Express. All necessary rituals were performed before the train departed to Mangaluru.

This grand celebration was attended in large numbers by the members of Tulu Kannada Sangha and the passengers travelling too joined in to show their gratitude for the exemplary service by this train.

This function was successfully conducted by joint efforts of Sudhakar Shetty an active member and a selfless social worker with the assistance of Clifford Rebello an active social worker in Chembur.

Susham Sawant the local corporator along with Sudhakar Shetty and all present graced the occasion by garlanding the train, lighting the lamp, breaking of coconuts, and distributing of water and sweets along with bunch of roses to all who witnessed this memorable event.

The motorman and guard of the train, along with the deputy station manager were felicitated with bouquets.

Sudhakar Shetty thanked the govt, the railway board, the ministers the late Madhu Dandavate and the late George Fernandes for their persistence, Sreedharan the architect of Konkan Railway route and all officials, workers connected to make this happen.

Sudhakar said that he even felt comfortable to travel by general class during vacation time when tickets are difficult to get.

All dispersed home with a sense of pride and satisfaction for the convenience provided, thanking profusely Konkan Railways.
