Puttur: Rs 15 lac cash theft eight months ago from footwear shop – Two arrested

Puttur, Jun 2: City police station personnel arrested two youths in connection with Rs 15 lac cash theft that occurred at Prakash footwear stop near Mai De Deus church on the main road of the city eight months ago.

The arrested are identified as Chandrashekar alias Chandu, a native of Shankaripuram in Hassan and Sameer alias Kappa from Devaraj Urs extension of Davanagere.

It may be recalled, on September 16, 2022, the accused had stolen Rs 15 lac cash from the footwear shop and went absconding.

Owner Sameer of the footwear shop had filed a complaint in this regard. City police station personnel were successful in arresting the culprits after eight months of tracking.

    This was not their mistake. They wanna encash 15 lakhs promised in 2014 by Vishwaguru. Now almost 10 yrs finished. It was the duety of previous BJP govenment to release their 15 lakhs with interest.
