Hemmeya Dubai Kannada Sangha hosts 'Kids Talent Competition, Student Excellence Award Ceremony 2023'

Abu Dhabi, Jun 2: The fifth edition of the 'Kids Talent Competition & Student Excellence Award Ceremony 2023' for the NRI Kannadiga kids residing in the United Arab Emirates was organized with great pomp and splendor, by the 'Hemmeya Dubai Kannada Sangha' in Dubai, at the JSS Pvt School Auditorium on the May 21.

The event started with dancing, singing, musical instrument playing and drawing competitions organized one after the other for different age group of kids. The winners from different categories were felicitated by the honorable guests and the organizing committee members along with the certificate distribution. Different age group kids also participated in the age-appropriate traditional and western fashion parade captivating to the delight of the spectators who had gathered in huge volumes. The event was presided by Madhu Davangere, president of the 'Hemmaya Dubai Kannada Sangha'.

Another important aspect of the event was the student excellence award ceremony, was to honor and felicitate with excellence awards and certificates, for the Kannada students studying in the UAE, who have excelled and secured highest marks in SSLC and PUC in the year 2022-2023 academic year.

For this spectacular event, from the motherland Karnataka’s garden city, Bengaluru, actress Sanjana Anand, singer Kambada Rangaiah, anchor Shameera Belvai, child actress baby Vanshika Anjani Kashyappa, TV actress Yashasvini master Anand and Rock Breakers Dance academy team master Shashank, Kiran, Keertana, Hamsa, Diya and other artists arrived and entertained the audience. A melodious musical evening was also arranged for the audience by some of the visiting artists.

By lighting the lamp, the programme started with bharata natyam in the god's name, followed by playing the Indian national anthem, UAE national anthem and Karnataka anthem. Indian anthem, played by UAE Kannada kids using different instruments was unique & delightful.

Shamira Belvai, the anchor narrated elegantly the details of the programme. The welcome speech was done by Pallavi Davangere, the main team member. Mamatha Raghavendra Mysore, the former president of the association narrated in detail the purpose of organizing such an event in the UAE and the detailed process of conducting the various activities and competitions for benefit of all the audience. Varadaraj Kolar highlighted the sponsors and thanked them for their valuable contribution. Shankar Belgavi conducted the Vote of Thanks for all the dignitaries, competitors, audience and all the other people who had gathered for the event.

The organizing committee of the programme form the Hemmeya Dubai Kannada Association included president Madhu Davangere, vice president Hadiya Mandya, chief secretary Rafiqali Kodagu, former presidents Sudeep Davangere, Mamatha Raghavendra Mysore and committee members Dr Savita Mysuru, Anita Bengaluru, Varadaraj Kolar, Shankar Belgaum, Mohinuddin Hubli, and sub-committee members Nazira Mandya, Srinivas Urs Bangalore and Nizar Kasaragod Kannadiga were there among others.
