Kasargod: Recruitment of Malayali teacher for Kannada medium subject – Students hold protest

Kasargod, Jun 4: Students of Adoor government higher secondary school held a protest against recruitment of a Malayalam speaking teacher for social science subject of Kannada medium.

Earlier, a teacher was sent back for the same reason by holding protests. However, this time the teacher came under police protection. The students of Kannada medium did not have lunch and protested against the recruitment urging for Kannada language teacher recruitment.

The head teacher, who arrived at his office, collapsed after getting information on the happenings in the school. He was immediately taken to the hospital. Kannada medium students said that they will continue the protest on Monday.

    The issue is unnecessarily politicised. The teacher if knows the language, there is nothing wrong in teaching.

    2 things are impossible, one is non Malayali getting job in Kerala and second non Tamil getting job in Tamil Nadu.....2 things are highly possible, one finding a Malayali working in other states and second finding a Tamil working in other states.....why are these people so so Xenophobic

    Before giving judgement about malayali teacher,did anyone try to speak to her about her knowledge if she can talk or not?Second who appointed her in the first place.?Was a malayali?Things happen in karnataka that never happen n Kerala.

    First they hate religion now they hate their own people of same religion based on language. Many malayalis are responsible for kannadigas to get employment in this country and the same reverse. This girls should put their mind into education and not language and religion of teachers.

    This is the difference between the present and old generation. They still want to continue their protest on Monday inspite of the head teacher taken to the hospital. Whereas the old generation would have never gone to such a extent out of human grounds.

    Malayalis are the smartest people in India...even a coolie worker reads newspaper in the morning before starting work unlike the mangas of monkey land..so the kannadigas must be happy that they are allowed to learn kannada...how here in our state we treat people from Maharashtra? they are not allowed to raise any voice

    Different Indian languages are taught in both govt. and private schools all over the country depending on the number of students. For instance Malayalam is taught as a second language (optional) in schools of MP. Kannada is taught in some municipal schools of Mumbai.

    first of all most of the malyalees are coolie workers only.. for education they come to mlore blore.. for hospitals they come to mlore blore.. for jobs they come to mlore blore.. as u said a coolie worker also reads malyalee.. but other than malyalee he doesnt no to read, write or speak any other language.. rest every other state people can manage hindi.. worst peple on the planet are malyalees
