Kundapur, Jun 5: A class 9 student fell down from the second floor of a private residential school here and died on Monday June 5.

The deceased is identified as Tanvi, a resident of Bengaluru.

Tanvi’s parents had admitted her to the private school in Kundapur in April this year. As it is a residential school, she had been at the school since April. Tanvi, who was always active, was in her yoga uniform, when she fell down out of a window from the second floor of the school to the ground at about 5.45 am on Monday. As her head hit the ground, she was seriously injured and died on the spot. The school management, who came to know of the incident, informed the parents of the girl, the police and shifted her to Kundapur government hospital.

One of the members of the school authorities said that the girl was sitting near the window during the yoga exercises when she slipped and fell. “She liked the school very much. Her death is shocking. The parents of Tanvi have arrived. Her mortal remains will be handed over to her parents after the post-mortem,” he said.

A case in this connection is registered at Kundapur police station.
