Mangaluru, Jun 6: A student who is one of the victims of moral policing incident that occurred at Someshwar beach recently, has filed a complaint with city police commissioner accusing the Ullal police station personnel of assaulting him.

It is leant that the student, in his complaint to the commissioner, said, “After I was assaulted by locals, the sub inspector of the police station called me to the station and got my signature on a blank paper. When I questioned his act, he assaulted me.”

Three girls, students of a para medical college of the city, had gone to Someshwar beach on June 1 evening along with three boys, students of the same college. Two people of opposite sex according to Indian law can go anywhere and its correct in the eyes of law. Who are the moral p[police people to question that? Freedom is allowed in Indian constitution No one can question that in modern day world. Love is beyond religion Anyone can love any person in modern day era

Taking signature on a blank paper is very common in Indian police stations, which needs to be stopped. Government should have CC cameras in the police stations while taking statements from victims. Also like in foreign countries, all police should have body camera worn over the uniform and everything is recorded live and higher authorites like Commissioners/DIGs can have access. Police behavior will drastically change if every action is recorded and they will be accountable.

k.b.r.Do you know them? I don't. But I assume that students of paramedical college don't go to college just to waste their parents money, rather, to be professionals and responsible adults. Just going to beach, they are not loafers. Loafers are those the so called "Innocents". You don't have a right to hit your own sister, let alone others. Police misbehaviour may not stop unless there is a law to sue them personally for monetary damage like in the Western countries. When it hit their pocket, it hurts the most.
