Beltangady, Jun 11: In two separate incidents that occurred at Charmadi market area on the afternoon of Saturday, a tempo traveller that was moving from Kottigehara to Ujire and a vegetable transporting vehicle overturned.

The tempo traveller tilted in front of a grocery shop at around 2 pm after the driver of the vehicle lost control. As it overturned a little away from the shop, the shop or customers standing near it did not suffer any damage.

A short while after the tempo traveller overturned, around 100 meters from that spot, a vehicle transporting vegetables skidded and fell into the roadside drain. Fortunately, in both the incidents no one got injured.

The 3-km stretch of road from the first bend of Charmadi Ghat to the Charmadi pond was developed three years ago. However, the new asphaltation is too nice, making the vehicles lose balance during rain. Many accidents have occurred on this stretch.
