New Delhi, Jul 20: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker, Suhail Hindustani will be taken in for questioning by the crime branch of the Delhi Police on Wednesday in connection to the cash-for-votes scam case.

Suhail Hindustani is the purported whistleblower of the 2008 cash-for-votes scam.

Hindustani had shot to fame after he became a part of the sting operation in July 2008, which revealed leaders like Amar Singh and Ahmed Patel offering money to BJP MPs to abstain from voting.

The  Delhi Police had also sought permission from the Home Ministry to question Amar Singh in the scam after his close aide Sanjeev Saxena was arrested by the investigating agency. Permission has been sought from the Rajya Sabha Chairman since he remains an un-attached member of the House after being expelled by the Samajwadi Party.

Sources say that Amar Singh has been consulting top lawyers to defend himself.
