Uttara Kannada, Jun 24: One gets confused whether it is a house or art museum. The place is surrounded by various kinds of sculptures and figures. In addition, the colourful design of bottle surprises the visitor. This art world is created by things that would have thrown as waste.

The house that looks as if it is an art museum is located at Hitlahalli of Yallapur taluk of the district. It belongs to Venkataramana Hegade of Jalimane. There is no matching art for the world created by 65 year old Venkataramana.

The effort one sees did not happen in a year or two. It has taken relentless dedication of 40 years. Venkataramana is a sculptor who turns even waste material into artistic piece.

Though Venkataramana is not a professional sculptor, his mind is full of creativity. He is agriculturist by profession and has three acres of land on which he grows arecanut, jackfruit and coconut. His house resembles Sandalwood actor Ravichandran’s house in the movie ‘Kalavida’.

Venkataramana created these master pieces from the wooden pieces that were fallen in the forest. The house has got 200 varieties of Lord Ganesha, animals, Buddha and other face masks.

He also has collection of more than 2000 glass bottles that are usually discarded by people after use. He has more than 3000 pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In addition, bulb and cycle tyre which are generally thrown as garbage get life in the hands of Venkataramana.

Venkataramana is also famous for writing 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita on a leaf of banyan tree. He has received many awards for this achievement.
