Mangaluru, Jun 26: A class one girl student fell down while running as she was carrying a bag weighing 12 kilos on her back. It had 19 note books. She suffered an injury on her nose. A video of this incident is going viral on social media.

It has come to light that a class one girl student of a private school of Mudipu fell on the interlock road and got her nose injured.

It looks as if the girl slipped and fell due to rain. However, on checking it is found that the girl was carrying heavy bag. Public are expressing rage that educational institutions are playing with the health of kids though there is strict instructions from the education department not to burden children with loads of books.

The physique of children of yesteryears was different. The present generation kids are very sensitive and usually very slim. If they are made to carry such huge loaded bags, they will definitely end up suffering back-related ailments. In schools, Rs 6000 fee is collected every year for physical fitness. Public is urging action on the educational institution which has made the girl to carry such a heavy bag to school.

Schocking. For physical training in school money is collected? What else? Why with school fees it is not included.?Many questions .I am sure girl was weak to carry such a heavy bag.Parents could help in such cases or daily sort out note books and lesson books according to daily use ?Of course she has to carry .water bottle ,food if required.Yes children today have a lot to carry.

It is an unfortunate incident, I feel sorry that the girl fell on the floor in this rainy weather with a heavy load of school books. It was too much for her age and the interlock road was one of the reasons for the fall. I wish her a speedy recovery of her nose. I don't know whom to blame for this fall.

The solution is to create better time-table or some locker facilities so that students can store books in the class itself rather than carrying it everyday.

It's not the teacher's or schools mistake...the irrational and stupid govt education policies are responsible for this burden......instead of symplifing things they have made the curriculum so volumnous . Most teachers are underpaid and overworked with govt using them as free labour for census, election, monkey bath ,yoga circus and hundred other thuglaq schemes.

The girl's parents must be uneducated; they don't know why so many books are require to be carried every day. The girl made it worse, by running with that load on her back, instead of walking briskly. Hope she is wearing the government allotted free shoes and socks and was not hurt on her knees. Mother must be busy with other littler kids, so she had to leave the girl to go by herself to school. May be the Karnataka government should provide school buses for free rides. That would be better than giving free rides to all grown up women to gallavant around the state.

Because kids don't keep their books according to the time table and carry all the books. This lead to burden on their shoulders rather using Tabs etc .

The fact is children do carry the books per timetable. But you need to count the number of books per subject. example in this child's case could be, 8 periods, so at least 4 text books and for each like language there is copy writing and notes. Thus all counts to 19 books. Tragedy is we also had 8 periods but we also had minimal books. Teacher would manage everything in one slate and text book. Many times not all text book lessons are done per timetable in such case teach can plan well and mention that which text book and notes can be taken for next day. This can definitely reduce the overburden.

i dont understand why to take this much book in this 21st century when whole world childrens reached to new heights . but in inida same school bag like load heavy of stone . yes our time also we did but now we have good facility to reduce this burden . school management shouuld look in to this matter . i prefer for kids 1 to 5 class should give one drawer to each kids to keep book in school only books to take are like home work books and what need to study books only thatto take no all books . and from calss 1 to 5 teach them how to grown up in life and give them goal of life . not any other useless education which is not at all usless for like nor have any means of studying those.
