Puttur, Jul 2: In a tragic incident reported from Purusharakatte of Indiranagar near here, a woman took her own life due to distress caused by her son's severe injuries sustained in an accident.
The deceased, Kavya (38), was the wife of the late Praveen, who had also committed suicide seven years ago. Kavya, who suffered from mental illness, ended her life at the same location.
Kavya's son, Prateek, was seriously injured in an accident near Bedrala on June 30 and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru.
The deceased is survived by a son and a daughter.
