Miami, Jul 26 (IANS/EFE): Peruvian singer-songwriter Gianmarco is returning to the market with his new album "Dias Nuevos", a personal effort in which the artist - who has worked with figures such as Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony - performs 11 new originals.
The album, which went on sale June 23, already has received the Triple Platinum Album recognition for sales in Peru and made its debut in seventh place on the Mexican sales charts.
"Cuentame", the first single on the album, already has shot to the top of the digital downloads list.
But although this new album has been much anticipated by Gianmarco's fans, perhaps nobody has been awaiting it more than Gianmarco himself.
"I missed making an album with unreleased songs; I needed that re-encounter with myself," the artist told EFE.
This new album is, he said, just what he needed to "recharge my creative batteries".
The production contains three numbers - "Sabes que cuentas conmigo", "Respirar" and "Dime donde" - which Gianmarco performs as duets with Diego Torres, Alejandro Sanz and Juan Luis Guerra. This, the artist said, is something that he had worked hard to make into a reality.
"No, I don't believe it. I listen to the album and I don't know how I wound up with these great artists on it. In reality, they are friends, above all. Juan Luis helped me a lot in the United States, he was very generous with me; with Alejandro it's been a very lovely process of getting closer together, and Diego and I are united by the love of music and a passion for soccer," he said, laughing.
