Kundapur: Man on scooter accidentally falls into pond, dies

Kundapur, Jul 5: A man died after accidentally slipping and falling into a pond here.

The deceased is identified as Dinaker Shetty (46), a resident of Malyadi, Kedur gram panchayat limits. The incident took place late night on Tuesday July 4.

Dinaker, who was employed as a cashier at Hallimane hotel, Manur near Thekkatte was returning home after work as usual in his scooter when he lost balance and fell into the pond of the deity along with his vehicle a little away from his residence.

His wife Sheela Shetty who was worried that her husband did not return home informed the residents and started searching for him when the incident came to light.

Kota station police and the fire brigade rushed to the spot. As the pond was filled with rain water, expert diver Ishwar, Nagaraj of Ishwar Mithra and locals helped in the rescue operations.
