Mangaluru, Jul 5: Late last night, an unidentified thief broke into Maroli Bar in Talapady and made off with Rs 2 lac in cash and several bottles. The incident was captured on CCTV camera.

The thief gained access to Maroli Bar through a window in the toilet. After breaking open the door, the thief proceeded to the money counter and stole Rs 2 lac in cash. Additionally, liquor bottles were also taken. It is suspected that the thief is familiar with the layout of the bar and its contents.

Given that the owner of the bar also owns a bus, there are suspicions that the security guards associated with the bus may be involved in the theft.

Forensic experts and a dog squad have visited the scene to collect evidence. A case has been registered at Ullal police station based on a complaint filed by the bar owner, Sunil Maroli.

While empathizing with his loss, it was utter foolishness on his part to keep so much cash in the hotel overnight 😔!!

Unfortunately banned substances get more demand! If it's banned in Mangalore, stock will come from Goa or Maharashtra, through organized cartels, where liquor is very cheap! Also, country bootlegging will flourish! FYI, state is earning the highest revenue from alcohol sales!
