Bantwal, Jul 6: The taluk continues to experience heavy rainfall, resulting in significant damage across the region.

In Kalladka village, within Baltila, Vasant Acharya's home compound collapsed onto the premises of Sriram School, causing damage. Revenue department officials reported that the PWD roadside embankment at Pupadikatte in Navuru village also collapsed. A joint investigation with the Public Works Department was conducted, and a notice of the dangerous condition was issued for the affected house.

Isubu Barry's house in Badagakajekaru village, Kominadka, suffered damage due to the collapse of the enclosure wall. Similarly, the compound wall of Umavati's house in Kolnadu village, Tamaraje, sustained severe damage.

Sharmila's house in Pudu village, Kabela, collapsed, leading to her relocation. The soil behind Salam's house in Kariyamgala village gave way, resulting in significant damage. Dejappa Mulya's house in Sangabettu village, Kumarottu, also experienced severe damage, prompting the family to move to a nearby house. In Panjarakodi village, Kolladu, the barrier wall next to Jainabha's house collapsed, causing extensive damage to both houses. Sheenappa Mulya's house in Baltila village, Nirapade, was severely damaged, necessitating his relocation to a relative's house. Hasanabba's house in Arala village saw the collapse of its barrier. Dharnappa Pujari's house in Balthila village, Berkala, sustained damage to its side. Additionally, a house compound collapsed in Nekkare village, Vitla Kasaba.

In Arala village, Baby Rava's house was damaged by a falling tree. The residents of Bolangadi, near Panemangalore, are concerned about the possibility of landslides. Ibrahim's house in Bolangadi witnessed a collapse, cutting off road access for four houses. Furthermore, heavy rain caused traffic disruptions when a hillock collapsed on the road near Veerakambha on the Vitla-Mangalore road. Water flowed onto the road, and the soil covered the entire stretch. Officials, including the Tehsildar, visited the affected areas to assess the situation.

Traffic got disrupted as a hillock collapsed near Veerakamba on Vittal-Mangaluru road due to the incessant rains that are lashing the district for the past two days. Water is flowing on the water as the hillock near Veerakamba school is collapsed. Bantwal tahsildar B S Koodalagi and officials visited the spot and inspected.
