New Delhi, Jul 27 (IANS): India and Pakistan Wednesday reiterated their "firm commitment" to eliminate terrorism from the region in all its forms, External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna said.

Krishna, addressing a joint press conference with visiting Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, said the two sides agreed that "terrorism poses continuing threat to peace and security" in the region.

"We reiterated the firm commitment of the two countries to fight and eliminate this scourge in all its forms and manifestations," he said after the meeting with Khar.

Krishna said he was "satisfied" with the resumption of the peace process that was stalled in the aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai terror attack by 10 Pakistani terrorists.

He said the two countries had also agreed to "bring those responsible" for terror attacks to justice.

"The outcome (of Wednesday's talks) has been as per our expectations. We reaffirmed our commitment to resolve all our issues," said Krishna, with Khar standing on his left side.

He said he could "comfortably say that relations (between the two countries) are on the right track.... (But) we have distances to travel".
