ICYM Moodbidri organizes scholarship awareness, guidance programme

Moodbidri, Jul 17: 'A good education is a foundation for a better future'. With this belief, the Education Commission and Teachers Association, in collaboration with ICYM Moodbidri, organized a Scholarship Awareness and Guidance Programme on July 16. The aim of the programme was to ensure that no child in the community is deprived of education due to financial constraints.

The event commenced with a soulful prayer song presented by the teachers, seeking divine blessings for the success of the programme. Meera Miranda warmly welcomed the esteemed guests, including the resource person Narayana Nayak, an experienced teacher, Fr Onil D'Souza, the parish priest of Corpus Christi Church, Vincent, vice president of the parish council, Norbert Martis, secretary, 21 commission convener Celine DSouza, ICYM president Ruben Serrao, and Mark Mendoza.

Fr Onil D'Souza addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of education in transforming lives and building a better society. He applauded the initiative taken by the organizers to create awareness about scholarships, which could significantly impact the educational prospects of deserving students.

Narayana Nayak, the resource person, was well-versed in scholarship opportunities and enriched the gathering with valuable information. He shed light on various scholarships available for minority students, girls, and children of construction workers, both from government and private organizations. His informative session included detailed guidelines on the application process, ensuring that interested students would be well-prepared to pursue these scholarships. Nayak also extended his assistance to the attendees, assuring them of his support in the future.

The programme was skillfully compered by Reshel Fernandes, maintaining the flow of the event and engaging the audience effectively. Tr Joyline, in her vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and volunteers who made the event successful. She also acknowledged the support of the school, church, and community members for their encouragement and cooperation.
