Kasab Challenges Death Penalty in Supreme Court

New Delhi, Jul 29 (IANS): Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving gunman in the Mumbai 2008 terror attack, Friday moved the Supreme Court challenging the death penalty awarded to him by a trial court and upheld by the Bombay High Court.

Kasab's appeal was filed by the authorities at the Arthur road jail in Mumbai where he has been lodged since he was arrested in 2008.

Kasab was convicted by the trial court for murder, conspiracy and waging a war against India and sentenced to death last year. The verdict was upheld by the high court this year.

A Pakistani national, Kasab was one of the 10 gunmen involved in the Mumbai terror attacks of November 2008 in which 166 people were killed.

Why is the Indian Government and Indian so called justice system wasting time and money on this Pakistani terrorist? Just hang or shoot him. End of story. If he was caught for such an act in Saudi Arabia, he would have been publicly beheaded within weeks without mercy! Indian justice system is all bunk and corrupt, just like our politicians...may God save India!

He should be hanged without a trial. Why spend more Indian taxpayers money for housing this worm?? Shouldn't this money be recovered from Pak govt.?? These worms criticize and attack our country, but when the tables turn, they use the very same freedoms and rights that this country provides. Bloody hippocrates. Our politicians should grow a spine and punish these low lives without delay

Now SC will take few year to give decision and ultimately uphold the death penalty. Then he will move to President of India for mercy. There it will remain pending for some more years. Like this he will freely live as "ROYAL" guest for at least 7-8 years in the land where he committed the heinous act. Such an irony!

When the two Respectable Courts have given the verdict then Supreme Court should not entertain such challenge. In fact Supreme Court them self must pull the ears of Government for not taking action on decision of two Respectable Courts.
