Udupi, Jul 19: "Those who looted the country for sixty years have now joined forces. All those who have come forward are merely prime ministerial candidates. They have formed a coalition and are campaigning under the banner of India, similar to their past endeavors," union minister Shobha Karandlaje said on Tuesday, July 19.

Shobha Karandlaje went on to draw historical comparisons, saying, "The term 'India' was initially associated with the British East India Company, infamous for its looting. Now, a new 'East India Company' has seemingly emerged, opposing Prime Minister Modi's efforts in promoting India's name globally."

According to Shobha Karandlaje, this usage of the name "India" goes against the constitution, specifically Article 1, which she believes should not permit such a name. She asserted that local support favors Narendra Modi, who she says has been spreading India's name positively.

Speaking about Ajith Pawar's entry into the NDA, Shobha Karandlaje remarked that he did so due to being weary of family politics and assured that the BJP would firmly stand with him.

Turning her attention to the state's guarantees, Shobha Karandlaje expressed concerns over the potential discontinuation of KSRTC if adequate funds are not allocated in the budget. She pointed out that certain promised initiatives like the implementation of 200 free units, Bhagyalaxmi, and unemployment allowance have been postponed. She called for clarity on the date of the first cabinet meeting, where these matters were expected to be addressed, emphasizing that the promises made by the government were instrumental in securing electoral seats.

In conclusion, Shobha Karandlaje raised a critical question regarding how the government plans to compensate for the losses incurred while fulfilling the promised guarantees.

Karandlaje assures suitable action in Santhekatte underpass work issue

Speaking about the collapse of the road during the Santhekatte underpass work, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje expressed her concern and revealed, "During the disha meeting, I had emphasized the need to take suitable precautions. Unfortunately, due to the discovery of rocks during the construction, the projects faced delays and could not be completed as scheduled."

She further disclosed, "In my recommendations, I had suggested the use of sandbags to prevent potential cave-ins. It is disheartening to see that these precautions were not implemented. We are now contemplating measures to hold the responsible individuals accountable."

"I will bring this matter to the attention of NH officials and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Necessary action will be taken against those deemed responsible for the incident," she assured.
