Bantwal, Jul 22: Heavy rain has been lashing the taluk since Friday. Several trees were uprooted in the strong breeze causing loss.
The house shed of Honnamma at Netla Mudnoor was damaged. A fallen tree on the road at Neralakatte Mani – Mysure national highway hindered traffic.
The areca nut plantations of Shivarama Nayak at Chennaithodi was damaged. An areca nut tree of Diwaker at Kallige village broke. A tree fell on the house of Babu at Karbettu partly damaging the house. A coconut tree fell on the house of Koragappa at Ammunje and the roof of the house of Mariyamma at Kariangala.
The temporary house of Bhagi at Veerakamba was damaged after a tree fell on it. The wall of the house of Abubacker Siddik in Pudu village collapsed. The inmates were shifted later. A tree fell on the house of Razak at Kanathadka. A tree fell on the shed of Sathish Shetty at Mudayimaru. A tree fell and damaged the house of Vamadeva at Badaga Bellur. A coconut tree fell on the house of Appi Moolya at Kuriyala.
The level of water at Netravati river has gone up to 5.8 metre which is the danger level.
