Karkala: Driver seriously injured in bus-tipper collision, miraculous escape for passengers

Karkala, Jul 24: A driver of a private bus was seriously injured when the vehicle collided head-on with a tipper truck in a bid to overtake a government bus near Jarkala Basri school on Monday July 24.

The private bus was moving towards Karkala from Udupi at a high speed. As it approached Jarkala Basri school, it tried to overtake the government bus that was going ahead of it. The driver of the private bus lost control on the vehicle and hit the tipper truck that was coming from the opposite direction.

The bus driver was seriously injured. His leg also got fractured. The passengers in the bus and the tipper truck driver escaped with minor injuries.

The injured were admitted to a hospital in Karkala.

Karkala police are investigating further.

    These private buses are a danger to passangers as well to others too.They try to overtake others to make money risking everything .even their life.Make all buses govt.so that no more run and risk competition there.Or install a micro chip in every bus that it cant beyond certain milage.In karnataka there is so many vehicles on road ,one should fear to travel even in bus or car.Govt.must look into this and make some changes.

    Nothing but negligence and arrogance of the bus driver .....this is a common seen here on our roads. Luckily innocent passengers escaped .....!!!

    We have temples in every street. For hospital you have to travel to Manipal and Mangalore. People are interested in Ayodhya Ram Temple, no care about shortage of hospitals and colleges. Buddhivantara Jille du avaste.
