Kundapur, Jul 24: CITU, Janawadi women organization and activists of Farmers’ union held a protest in the campus of Tile labourers’ bhavan in the city on Monday condemning the atrocities on Kuki community in Manipur.
Speaking on the occasion CITU convener Chandrashekhar V said, “The BJP government in Manipur led by Biren Singh is trying to appease the majority community due to which the violence has cropped up. They created rift between Meitei and Kuki communities and now women are paraded naked. Rapes, riots are rampant. The BJP government has completely failed in controlling the violence.
“Though the violence is going on since a few months, it is really unfortunate that the prime minister has not spoken a word on it. The union government should immediately dismiss the state government and law and order should be restored,” he said.
CITU leader Narasimha said, “Naked parading of women and divisive politics of BJP are dangerous to the country.”
CITU senior leader K Shankar was present. Sheelavathi Padukone, Balkis, Ramesha V, Raju Devadiga, Ravi V M and Santhosh Hemmadi were present.
