Bantwal: Vittal police arrest 3 persons in Dalit minor girl rape case

Bantwal, Jul 30: The Vittal police arrested three individuals on Sunday, July 30, in connection with the rape of a minor Dalit girl.

The arrested suspects are Akshay Devadiga (24), a resident of Beripadavu and native of Moodbidri, Kamalaksha Belchada (30), a resident of Kojappa, Bayar village, and Sukumar Belchada (28), a resident of Beripadavu. Akshay worked as a painter and stayed at his elder brother's house in Beripadavu, Kamalaksha was a plasterer, and Sukumar worked as a driver.

The accused trio faces charges under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and Dalit atrocity act. The police have registered a case based on the information provided by the victim, and the investigation is ongoing.
