Bengaluru, Nov 3: The Karnataka government has responded to public outrage over the recent hike in Nandini milk and curd prices, with chief minister D K Shivakumar directing officials to reduce the price of Nandini curd slightly.

The recent price hike has placed an additional burden on consumers, prompting widespread criticism, as milk and curd are essential daily necessities. Public pressure on the government to reduce prices has been mounting.

Speaking to reporters on the issue, chief minister Shivakumar said he had instructed officials to reduce the price of curd slightly.

There is no proposal to change milk prices. However, the government is considering a reduction in the price of Nandini curd, and Shivakumar has directed officials to take the necessary steps in this regard.

Accordingly, the proposed increase of Rs 14 per litre of curd is being reduced to Rs 12 per litre.
