Mangaluru, Jul 31: Ullal police have arrested a man for allegedly harassing a minor girl near the Talapady Rickshaw stand on Monday, July 31 evening.

The accused arrested is Muvad (35), a resident of Darkasu site, Mudipu. A case has been registered against him under the Pocso Act.

It is worth noting that Muvad has previous cases of Ganja peddling and two other pending cases at Konaje police station. These cases are currently under the hearing stage in court.

According to reports, the girl studying SSLC was returning home from school when she got down from the bus and waited for her sister at the bus stand.

During this time, Muvad, who was standing in the bus stand, acted indecently with the girl. He claimed he would accompany her home and forcibly grabbed her hand. In response, the girl raised an alarm, and local rickshaw drivers quickly intervened, holding Muvad and informing the Ullal police. Subsequently, the police arrested Muvad and filed a case against him under the Pocso Act.
