Sydney, Aug 1: Tulu Koota Sydney, founded in 2021, is a vibrant community of individuals residing in Sydney, Australia, hailing from the scenic Karavali region of Karnataka and bound by the Tulu language. The association was established with a noble mission - to preserve the rich culture and time-honored traditions of Tulunadu while living in a foreign land and passing on this heritage to future generations.

In collaboration with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Tulu Koota Sydney takes immense pride in presenting 'Karavali Utsav', a day dedicated to rejoicing in the Tulu roots. The event is set to take place at the Glaston Community Centre on August 13. The occasion promises to be a memorable one, graced by the presence of esteemed guests of honor—'Private Challenge’ superhit Tulu TV comedy show duo, Aravind Bolar and Walter Nandalike. With a host of engaging activities and cultural showcases, 'Karavali Utsav' aims to create an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Starting off the morning with zest, there will be enthralling painting and cooking competitions for both adults and children, ensuring that the day begins on a creatively stimulating note. As the event unfolds, a splendid cultural extravaganza awaits in the afternoon, showcasing the diverse talents of the community. The enthusiasm is evident, as an impressive number of 250 people have already registered to partake in the festivities.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors – Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Omega Industries, 1 sell, Mortgage 24, Guru Mantra, Equalen, XinWeath, Manvision Consulting, Castle Group, Sydney Sports Club, Chatkazz, M&N Joinery and Sri venkata Krishna Vrindavana . Their unwavering commitment has been instrumental in making this event a resounding success, and Tulu Koota Sydney extends a heartfelt gratitude for their benevolence.

Recalling the highlights of the year 2022, Tulu Koota Sydney orchestrated 'Aati Dh Onji Dia', a day exclusively dedicated to savoring the delectable Aati delicacies. The event was a delightful celebration of culinary delights, bringing a taste of Tulunadu's unique flavors to Sydney.

In another momentous occasion, Tulu Koota Sydney proudly presented the first-ever Tulu movie screening on Sydney soil, featuring 'Raj Sounds & Lights'. The response from the Tulu-speaking community was overwhelming, and the event was a resounding success with a packed theater, reflecting the deep-rooted affection for Tulu culture among the diaspora.

Promoting both sportsmanship and camaraderie, a badminton tournament was organized, providing Tuluvas with a platform to showcase their sporting prowess and fostering a sense of unity among participants.

Further strengthening the bonds within the community, a memorable day-long get-together was arranged, uniting Tuluvas under a single roof. The day was filled with laughter, joy, and bonding, complemented by a sumptuous lunch that satisfied both the palate and the soul. To enhance the sense of togetherness, various games were organized, bringing everyone closer through shared experiences and memories.

Tulu Koota Sydney is committed to continuing its mission of preserving and celebrating the unique heritage of Tulunadu. Through a series of engaging events and gatherings, the association endeavors to create a sense of belonging and pride among its members while ensuring that the flame of Tulu culture continues to burn brightly in the hearts of the diaspora, illuminating the path for generations to come.
