Mangaluru: Man fleeced of Rs 90400 on pretext of scratch coupon win gift

Mangaluru, Aug 1: A person was fleeced of Rs 90400 on the pretext of winning Rs 14.99 lac in scratch coupon.

A person by the name Deepak Pandey called the victim and said that his company is recognized by the government and is sending a mega draw coupon. On June 10, victim and complainant of this case received a scratch coupon. When the victim scratched the coupon, it was mentioned that he has won Rs 14.99 lac.

The victim called the helpline mentioned on the scratch card. The receiver said that he has won the first prize and needs to pay fee for the same. Later, Rs 90400 were transferred in phases from the account of the complainant.

A case in this connection is filed in CEN police station of Mangaluru.
